چکیده
A family of Enright’s second derivative formulas with trigonometric basis functions is derived using multistep collocation method. The continuous schemes obtained are used to generate complementary methods. The stability properties of the methods are discussed.Themethodswhich can be applied in predictor-corrector formare implemented in block formas simultaneous numerical integrators over nonoverlapping intervals. Numerical results obtained using the proposed block form reveal that the new methods are efficient and highly competitive with existing methods in the literature.

Trigonometrically-fitted second derivative method for oscillatory problems
ABSTRACT A continuous Trigonometrically-fitted Second Derivative Method (CTSDM) whose coefficients depend on the frequency and stepsize is constructed using trigonometric basis functions. A discrete Trigonometrically-fitted second derivative method (TSDM) is recovered from the CTSDM as a by-product and applied to solve initial value problems (IVPs) with oscillating solutions. We discuss the sta...
متن کاملEmbedded 5(4) Pair Trigonometrically-Fitted Two Derivative Runge- Kutta Method with FSAL Property for Numerical Solution of Oscillatory Problems
Based on First Same As Last (FSAL) technique, an embedded trigonometrically-fitted Two Derivative Runge-Kutta method (TDRK) for the numerical solution of first order Initial Value Problems (IVPs) is developed. Using the trigonometrically-fitting technique, an embedded 5(4) pair explicit fifth-order TDRK method with a “small” principal local truncation error coefficient is derived. The numerical...
متن کاملTrigonometrically fitted two-step obrechkoff methods for the numerical solution of periodic initial value problems
In this paper, we present a new two-step trigonometrically fitted symmetric Obrechkoff method. The method is based on the symmetric two-step Obrechkoff method, with eighth algebraic order, high phase-lag order and is constructed to solve IVPs with periodic solutions such as orbital problems. We compare the new method to some recently constructed optimized methods from the literature. The numeri...
متن کاملOn second derivative 3-stage Hermite--Birkhoff--Obrechkoff methods for stiff ODEs: A-stable up to order 10 with variable stepsize
Variable-step (VS) second derivative $k$-step $3$-stage Hermite--Birkhoff--Obrechkoff (HBO) methods of order $p=(k+3)$, denoted by HBO$(p)$ are constructed as a combination of linear $k$-step methods of order $(p-2)$ and a second derivative two-step diagonally implicit $3$-stage Hermite--Birkhoff method of order 5 (DIHB5) for solving stiff ordinary differential equations. The main reason for co...
متن کاملZero-dissipative trigonometrically fitted hybrid method for numerical solution of oscillatory problems
In this paper, an improved trigonometrically fitted zero-dissipative explicit two-step hybrid method with fifth algebraic order is derived. The method is applied to several problems which solutions are oscillatory in nature. Numerical results obtained are compared with existing methods in the scientific literature. The comparison shows that the new method is more effective and efficient than th...
